DECIMALS PERCENTS STEP #1 Multiply the decimal by 100. “Shortcut” Move the decimal two places to the right. STEP #2 Write the number with the percent symbol. EXAMPLE: Write .12 as a percent. .12 x 100 = 12 Notice how the decimal moved two places and is now at the end of the number. Add the % sign. .12 = 12%
