NOTES 27 – Embryonic Stem Cells and Cloning
Presentation transcript:

of stem cell research

1. Help to understand human development and the growth and treatment of diseases.

There is a possibility that in the future scientists will be able to replace or repair damaged organ. 2.

Therapeutic cloning and regenerative medicines are other prospects of stem cell research. 3.

There could be new treatments for diseases that are currently incurable. Including diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson's disease and maybe even Alzheimer's, or new nerve connections to restore movement after spinal injury. 4.

5. All of the stem cell research companies have shown a large loss of money between due to the veto of the Stem Cell research bill by President Bush. Job loss also occurred.

6. They allow scientists to test pharmaceutical products directly on human cells instead of animal cells.

Story 16 year old Dimitri Bonnville was shot in the heart by a nail gun and stem cells saved his life.
