Hideki Tojo  Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1884  Went to military school when he was a young boy  Fought for Germany for several years

Hideki Tojo  40 th Prime Minister of Japan under Emperor Hirohito  He became a Major General, Chief, and Commander of the 24 th infantry before becoming Prime Minister  Directly responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941

Hideki Tojo  Formed an Alliance with Hitler of Germany and Mussolini of Italy to create the Axis Powers  Tojo was very fold of Hitler and looked forward to working with him.  The alliance between the three men became widely propagandized in America

Hideki Tojo: Pearl Harbor  There was a major war conflict between Japan and China. Japan wanted to expand it’s boarders and gain protection from China.  At first, the United States was aiding Japan in their efforts but then began selling weapons and supplies to China.  The U.S. did not agree with Japans efforts against China and began to decrease economic support for their war.

Hideki Tojo  For years, Tojo was seen as a hero. But after the Battle of Midway and the fall of Saipan, he was forced to resign on July 18,  After Japans surrender in 1945, America demanded the arrest of Tojo and several other war criminals.
