Japan was mad at the United States, because they cut off all oil supplies. America also asked Japan to leave China alone and so a war against the U S was going to happen. Japan’s only hope was to strike first. 3 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

Pearl Harbor was involved in WWII after President FDR had declared war against Japan on December 8, 1941 for the reason that Japan had attacked the United States first. The United States attacked Japan in the location of Japan. United States used atomic bombs were it killed thousands of Japanese but was useful for them so the Japanese could give up. 8 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States and was there to lead the United States during a time of worldwide economic depression and total war. The attack on Pearl Harbor led President Franklin D. Roosevelt to proclaim December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy". 9 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

Yamamoto was the master mind behind the attack at Pearl Harbor. Isocorku Yamamoto planned and carried out the Japanese air strike on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on Oahu Island, Hawaii, December 7, The attack was a decided success, especially in catching the United States off guard, resulting in more than 3,400 American casualties. 12 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

“We, as a nation, cannot wait for the Pearl Harbor of the information age. We must increase our vigilance to tackle this problem before we are hit with a surprise attack.” - Fred ThompsonWe, as a nation, cannot wait for the Pearl Harbor of the information age. We must increase our vigilance to tackle this problem before we are hit with a surprise attack. Fred Thompson I choose this quote because from what I read I believe that this Is true, our country needs to be prepared at all times so we don’t get a surprise attack once again. 14 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

The peace treaty with Washington and Japan has been broken. And that is why Japan had plan a surprise attack on the midway and on pearl harbor. 15 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

“We stand completely and totally behind our president. We may have our differences from time to time, but on a day like this, which rivals or not exceeds the attack on Pearl Harbor, we stand united behind our president and our government.”- Christopher DoddWe stand completely and totally behind our president. We may have our differences from time to time, but on a day like this, which rivals or not exceeds the attack on Pearl Harbor, we stand united behind our president and our government. I choose this quote because like it said ‘’ we may have our differences from time to time but we stand untied behind our president and government when something goes wrong. What they try to say here is that people sometimes will need from others to be given the help we need. 17 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

Jimmy Doolittle was on of the first person to fly the big war planes in less than 400 tracks. And for that accomplish Doolittle had been passed on to general to train and teach other soldiers that they have nothing to fear and they will fly within the surprise attack that they will give to Japan. 18 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

this historical event connects to when the twin towers in New York City were destroy. I relate this to the twin towers because they were also attacked as a surprise and many innocent people were killed. Many people as well stayed alone because there families were in the twin towers when they collapsed. Both situations were terrible scenes because both the pearl harbor attack and the twin tower attack had to do with someone not liking part of our government or someone not agreeing with something that our government came up with. 24 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

This also is connected in the way with economy because a lot of money was wasted during this times. The twin tower must of cost thousands of dollars to be constructed and Pearl Harbor most of cost thousands of dollars as well to go to war and to repair everything that was damaged. 25 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

This picture here shown below Is the press conference saying that Congress has Declared war against Japan.. Roosevelt said ‘from Berlin, Rome, And Tokyo we have been describe as a nation of weaklings and Playboys who hire British, Russian or Chinese soldiers to do our fighting for us. Let them repeat that now. Let them tell that to general Macarthur and his men. Let them tell that soldiers who today are fighting hard in the far water of the pacific. Let them tell that to the boys in the flying for tresses. Let them tell that to the marines. 26 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

erika 27 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

If I was faced in this situation I would of reacted just like every other person did. I would have been shocked on everything that happen because I probably wouldn’t have expected something like that to happen. In a way I would have been sad seeing everything go down from one day just to another. I would of done the same like president FDR did, to declare war against Japan. I wouldn’t let all the people down. I wouldn’t give up till I mad Japan give up and for the Unites States to win the war. If I were a solider I would of fought to show my side of a proud solider. One if the reasons why Japan had attacked the Unites States was because president FDR had froze all the Japanese assets and so the U.S stope giving them sales of Oil and Scrap metal. 28 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

♥ Courage ♥ Happiness ♥ Sadness ♥ Excitement ♥ 1. Its has courage because no one backs down when they are about to go to war. ♥ 2. Its has happiness because one of the soldier is going to a top secret war. ♥ 3. It has sadness because so many marines end soldiers have died with bravery and loyalty. ♥ 4. It has excitement because not only they won the war but lost, however the soldiers that were in training were passed on to a higher mission. 29 Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A

Question 1 – Japan Attacked Pearl Harbor Question 2 - Franklin D. Roosevelt Question 3 – Because the U.S stop sales of Oil and Scrap metal for Japan. Question 4 - December 8, 1941 Question 5 - 2,008 KIA, 109 KIA, 218 KIA, Salvador Guzman - Tania Gallardo - 1A
