HPS – TRAINING THAT WORKS Diagram templates for your presentations Let people SEE complex relationships! V08.1
Construct diagrams in 5 simple steps Don‘t force ALL information into one diagram! Main message of diagram in the headline! What information must this slide transport to the audience? 1 Look for key words, “labels” Which elements are important? 2 Arrange the elements according to message top-down, inside-out, towards centre, in a circle 3 Clarify and enhance relationships add in arrows, or lines 4 Add extra points as bullets underneath 5
A fast and simple way to diagrams Go to View – Slide Sorter (that’s the view with the many small slides) Choose the diagram you wish to use Select and copy this slide (Ctrl + C) Switch to YOUR presentation (Again: View - Slide Sorter. Do NOT try to insert a diagram into an existing slide!) Click between the two slides where you want to insert the new diagram (a long, vertical, blinking cursor will appear between slides) Insert the copied slide into your presentation (Crtl + V) Adjust size of diagram. We have allowed for a headline, but you might want a different size. Select the complete diagram (we have grouped it for this purpose!), and change its size Edit colours, text font etc.... Of course, you will have to ungroup the diagram first! IMPORTANT: The templates use only shades of gray and blue. Therefore they are a good starting point for all kinds of design. However, you will have to modify colours etc, but the shades will keep the objects visible on most backgrounds.
