 The 3 jobs that I am looking at and considering for a career are all in the medical field and they are: ◦ Registered Nurse ◦ Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetic ◦ Pediatrician

 Registered Nurses provide care for patients and support for patients and their families.  They also let people know about health conditions, answer questions and give advice.  Job Outlook is very positive and there is an expected to be a growth rate of 19% which is faster than average.  By 2022 there is expected to be 526,800 more people in this field

 You need a bachelor degree in nursing  An associate degree in nursing  Or a diploma from an accredited nursing program  You must also be licensed

 Registered Nurses can work pretty much anywhere like: ◦ Hospitals ◦ Physicians’ Offices ◦ Convalescent homes  The duties of a nurse generally stay the same wherever you go but some times the work load maybe more in other places.

 Registered nurses salary varies depending how long you’ve been there and where you are working at.  The bottom 10 % earned less than $44,970  The average earned about $65,950  The top 10% earned more than $96,630

 Registered Nurses don’t really have unions but they do have the CAN, California Nurses Association  It was founded in 1903, and now has more than 86,000 members, and has grown more than 400% in the past 15 years.  RNs that are represented by this association have some of the best bargaining contract in the nation

 CRNA’s provide anesthetics to patients in any setting, for any type of procedure that requires going under.  The are just like actual Anesthesiologists but without the title, and less amounts of years of schooling.  It takes about 6 years plus 1 additional year of clinical care.  The 10-year job growth is 19% increase

 These types of nurses are more advanced and therefore get paid a lot more than just an RN.  They have a Median pay of $159,000  The top pay is about $205,000

 Bachelor Degree in Nursing  Registered Nurse Licensure  A minimum of 1 year of acute care experience, in the ICU or ER  Competition of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program  Pass the National Certification Examination

 Nurse Anesthetics can work pretty much anywhere that people need to be put under.  Hospitals  Dentists offices

 The association for these types of nurses is California Association of Nurse Anesthetics Inc.  What it does for many CRNA’s is it monitors their practices and health care legislation, provides more current educational information, and also tries to provide better health care.

 Pediatricians specialize in the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention in health problems in, babies, children and teenagers.  They also provide checkups, medication, immunizations shots/ vaccinations, and also different treatments.  There is said to be a Positive out look on the job with an expected 22% increase from 2008 to 2018

 You must complete 4 years of undergraduate courses and get a Bachelors Degree  Then you must complete 4 years of medical school which you will get your MD  Then you will do 1 year of an internship followed by 2 years of residency  After this you are now able to be certified if you past the state board exams. Return to Top

 Pediatricians make a good amount of money whether you are in the top 10 percent or bottom 10 percent.  The top amount is $204,048  The median amount is $142,540  The lowest amount is $89,185

 The associations for Pediatricians is the American Academy of Pediatrics and it was founded in 1930  There are over 60,000 Pediatricians committed to this association  They provide there members with the latest news on new techniques, as well as newer better treatments
