Cottage Homes Cottage Homes is a start-up company that will exclusively build/manufacture single-family homes from 100 to 350 square feet, using several floor plans and models on wheels. Each home is astatically pleasing, ecologically friendly and financially feasible. Not a camper, RV, or stigmatic trailer… This is a Home! Classy, Cozy, and Convenient. Not a camper, RV, or stigmatic trailer… This is a Home! Classy, Cozy, and Convenient.
Cottage Homes Cottage Homes will bridge the gap for quality, competitive costing homes. Over the past 10 years, “Tiny Homes” gained popularity due to the poor economic state and financial crisis in America. Recently they gained traction due to the high expense cost of a large house. Currently, there isn’t an industry that solely builds small homes for families looking to downsize. Currently, living small offers two options: Recreational Vehicles (RV) living or “Tiny Home” living. Currently, living small offers two options: Recreational Vehicles (RV) living or “Tiny Home” living.
The alternative, Recreational Vehicles (RV), are not astatically pleasing to live in as an everyday house. They are constructed inexpensively, with plastics, fiberglass and furring. They drastically depreciate and they provide little room for freedom of movement. Cottage Homes The “Tiny Home” concept, though not a new idea, opened the door to an alternative to RV’s, giving the transportable home the look and feeling of comfort, with a homey effect, not a trailer feel. Plus the construction techniques of a wood built home, using standard building materials, will last a lot longer.
Cottage Homes A lot less Money, a lot more Free Time! 78% of Small House residents owns their home. 26% of an average household’s budget is spent on housing. The average cost of building your own Small House is $23,000 compared to $272,000 for a conventional home. 68% of Tiny Home owners are mortgage free, compared to 29.3% of U.S. homeowners. Cottage Homes Business philosophy: The “Tiny Home” or “Small Home” movement is a nearly untapped market. The future customers that want a “Small Home” are limited in their choices. Their first option is an Recreational Vehicle (RV) type home. RV’s are nice for a weekend getaway, but they are not built for long- term usage. The RV does not give you the “At Home Feeling” that a Cottage Home would give. The quality of the structure is mostly furring wood, fiberglass and plastic. The pricing on an RV unit is steep and depreciates quickly. The second option would be to have one of the few small home builders do the construction. This would involve finding a builder, looking over the slew of ideas and plans that change from one customer to the next, paying a deposit and waiting. The third option is finding a local builder that will tackle such an unusual job. The idea sounds easy to build, but without the proper engineering of constructing a movable structure, the results could be disastrous and costly The fourth option would be building it yourself. This is a very good option if you are qualified to do something of this caliber. The fifth option is to go shopping at an RV dealer or trade show, find a Cottage Home that you like, and you could be living small by the end of the day. *One of our options at Cottage Homes is that we will sell you a 100% Turn-Key unit unassembled with any option.
