Introduction of Animals Introduction of Animals By Miss Williams For Grades K - 2

Learning Environment  The learning environment will be at a public school in a classroom. Kids will use this as a tool to learn the difference between farm animals, domesticated pets, and wild animals in Indiana. They will use this program to study for the quizzes at the end of this power point presentation.

Target Audience  My target audience will be a public school. The grades that will be using this program will be grades first through third. Each classroom will have about 15 to 20 computers. There will be one kid to a computer. This power point presentation is meant to enrich the children's education.

Objective  I am hoping that this will help the younger students, in our elementary schools learn that there is a difference between a wild animal then from a farm animal. I am hoping that by the end of my presentation that my students will be able to tell me the difference in the types of animals.

Farm Animals A farm animal, is any animal that is taken care of by a human, or that lives in a barn.

Dairy Cow They produce milk for us to drink.

Beef Cow They produce meat for us to eat, like hamburgers and steaks.

Horses We can use horses for transportation.

Sheep They produce wool, this is how we get the wool to make our sweaters.

Pigs They also produce meat for us to eat, but it is called pork.

Domesticated Pets Pet’s, are any animal that is also taken care of by a human, but they usually live in the house with the humans.

Cats Cat’s are very easy going animals. They can be very comforting to have, especially for elderly people who has lost their companion or loved one.

Dogs Dog’s are a very common pet to have. They can be used to help guide blind people around, they are called “seeing eye dogs.”

Fish They are very nice pets to have. They only need a small space to live, so they do not take up hardly any room.

Frog They can live in any kind of environment. They primarily eat flies and other insects which they catch with their tongues.

Turtle They are the only land animal that can hide in it’s shell to protect themselves from their predators.

Wild animals that live in Indiana

Deer They are very abundant in Indiana, and a lot of people love to hunt deer here in the state.

Fox They are very sneaky animals, they also like to steal chickens from the farmers chicken coops.

Turkey Turkey’s can also be a farm animal, but they are more common to live out in the wild. They are also what we eat for Thanksgiving.

Coyote They can look like a domesticated dog, but are very dangerous to be around.

Raccoon Raccoon’s are the little animals that are gray and black striped. They also have the black circles around their eyes.
