Q: Why is the Loch Ness Monster important to Scotland. LT: Q: Why is the Loch Ness Monster important to Scotland? LT: * I will use primary and secondary sources to explain historical events * I can analyze the perspective of individuals and groups

What has the legend brought with it? The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has brought many good things to Scotland. Some of these things are tourism, businesses, and money.

Tourism/Businesses The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has brought many people to Scotland. In order to make more money, they created businesses. There are parks, statues, and replicas of the monster in the water. They also sell Loch Ness Monster items. Some businesses such as hotels and restaurants began getting more customers due to the larger amount of tourists.

Money The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has also given Scotland money aside from the increase in business. Scotland has been paid to allow companies to make movies and shows about the Loch Ness Monster. Many people find the Loch Ness Monster interesting so they buy or watch these things to learn more.

Why was the Legend Created? There are many theories of why the legend was created. The true story is that people would tell their kids stories of a monster to keep them away from the dark, dangerous waters of the Loch.

Proof of the Monster Many people believe that the monster is fake, however the people who do believe have proof. There are videos and photos of the monster. Scientists have found that there was a marine reptile in dinosaur ages that looks like the description of the Loch Ness Monster. Some people such as Scott O’Laneie said they saw it while fishing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSOvS4-bgl0&feature=related

Fake? Many people don’t believe in the Loch Ness Monster. They believe it was schools of fish passing through or a submarine’s periscope sticking out of the water.
