Definitions Vitamin: any of a group of organic substances essential in small quantities to normal metabolism, found in minute amounts in natural foodstuffs or sometimes produced synthetically: deficiencies of vitamins produce specific disorders. Supplement: something added to complete a thing, supply a deficiency, or reinforce or extend a whole.

Vitamin/Supplement I place a slash between the two because they are both similar in the fact that some people would call them the same thing. Vitamins are typically something we take to aide a lacking or to help another part of our body. Supplement is the same concept, it says so for itself in the definition.

What is Garcinia Cambogia? Garcinia cambogia, a tropical fruit also known as the Malabar tamarind, is a popular weight-loss supplement. People say it blocks your body's ability to make fat and it puts the brakes on your appetite. It could help keep blood sugar and cholesterol levels in check, too. You'll find it in bottles on the shelf at the store as well as mixed with other ingredients in diet products. (webmd)

What the Media Says All of the media Garcinia Cambogia is flashed as the magic pill in weight loss and that everyone is trying it. Dr. Oz is one of the main promoters of this vitamin and he has talked about it on several occasions, he even sells a brand himself.

The Truth Behind It The media may exaggerate but it isn’t a rapid or magic pill for weight loss. What it truly does is this: It allegedly decreases belly fat, suppresses appetite, controls emotional eating, and changes body composition by increasing lean muscle mass. It doesn’t just produce weight loss, but it improves overall health. It is said to decrease cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides by 10-30% and to raise levels of the “good cholesterol” HDL. In My Opinion I have personally taken this supplement through my job and I feel as though it does exactly what it says it does. When I was taking this vitamin/supplement, I wasn’t as hungry as I normally am and I felt fuller a lot faster. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to maintain their weight or even lose a few pounds, but tell them to keep in mind that it isn’t a magic pill to rapidly lose weight.
