The origins of Islam The origin of Islam is really interesting. The origin of Islam came from the angel Gabriel who had the Quran given to him from Allah. Then Gabriel gave the holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad. Source of information was from the origin of Islam website on slide 11

Major tenets of Islamic beliefs Believe in God the one and only God and that he has no companions or partners. Believe in the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the messenger. There is another thing that all Muslims believe in and that is the 6 articles of faith which is one that a Muslim must believe in. These 6 articles of faith are… 1. There is only one God. 2. Also the angles of God. 3.All of the books of God 4.Allthe prophets of God especially Muhammad. 5. The day of judgment. 6. The supremacy of God’s will. My source of information for all of this was from What are the basic tenants of Islam?wiki.answers.com on slide 11

All that is expected of a practicing Muslim Muslims are expected to Fast during the month of Ramadan, pray 5 times a day, at least once in their lifetime make pilgrimage and go to Makah , and to always give charity.

How Islam effect Afghanistan politically The ways that Islam effects Afghanistan politically is because Afghanistan is mostly populated by Muslims and practice Islam. So for example when they are picking a president the people there are most likely to pick the president that is a modern observer also someone who wants to solve the problems like the Taliban. Source of information was from wiki.answers.com/Q/How_does_Islam_affect_Afghanistan_politicaly

The 5 pillars of Islam The first pillar of Islam. The first pillar has to do with many things the first is shahada which means testimony. The first testimony is that Nothing deserves worship except God (Allah). The second testimony is Muhammad is the Messenger of God (Allah). This is what Muslims say when they wake up and go to sleep and also pray.  A person who utters the shahada as their last words in this life has been promised Paradise. All the information on all the five pillars are from this source the five pillars of Islam on saudiembassey.net

The second pillar of Islam The second pillar of Islam has to do with the prayer of Muslims. Salah is the daily ritual prayer enjoined upon all Muslims as one of the five Pillars of Islam. It should be performed five times a day by all Muslims. Salah is a precise worship, different from praying on the inspiration of the moment. Muslims pray and worship five times throughout the day. Also each prayer takes at least 5 minutes

The third pillar of Islam The third pillar of Islam is what every Muslim does. Which is give Zakat which is charity. Giving charity to those who deserve it is part of Muslim character and one of the Five Pillars of Islamic practices. Zakat expresses a Muslim’s worship of and a way thanking God by supporting those in need. Zakat reminds Muslims that everything they have belongs to God.

The fourth pillar of Islam The fourth pillar of Islam has to do with fasting during Ramadan. Ramadan, occurs once each year during the 9th lunar month, the month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar is when: the Quran was completed. The fasting occurs during dawn to sunset. This teaches a Muslim to be thankful of what he or she has and to always have faith and believe in Allah.

The fifth pillar of Islam The fifth pillar of Islam has to do with Hajj Hajj is when each Muslim once in his lifetime goes to Mecca in Saudi Arabia . The pilgrimage is made towards the Kaaba. The Kaaba is the house of God. Muslims pray outside and inside of the Kaaba to show their worship to God.
