Language Arts with Mrs. Thelen ● Reading Street, novels, articles, short stories, read alouds, AR ● Writing every day (major pieces throughout year) ● Spelling/Vocab rotates every week--tests on Fridays ● Grammar mini-lessons 2x week ● Homework: about 2x a week; on average, your child should be reading independently for about 20 mins each night

Social Studies with Mrs. Maxwell (B108) ● Seven Units with test at end (short take home quizzes after 2 or 3 lessons for review) ● Homework (on back of syllabus) ● Geography, Economics, World History will be covered this year ● SS binder materials need to be reread at night since they are taking the place of a textbook
