What Is Body Language? A type of non-verbal communication Includes gestures, movements, and facial expressions Used in 50% to 70% all communication Aids in reading people

Posture Posture is the way that we hold our bodies Signals of our attitude or emotion at the moment An open posture indicates friendliness and willingness A closed posture indicates hostility, anxiety, or unfriendliness

Posture in Communication Reflects our emotions, attitudes, and intentions Mirroring another's posture suggests that we are interested and approve of what is being said Some postures can be offensive in other cultures
