Creating Electronic Music CHLOE AND ELLIE

26 th January 2015 Aim  Our aim was to create an original piece of music that would be ‘copyright-free’.  We were to add at least three virtual instrument tracks and use effects such as panning, EQ and distortion.

26 th January 2015 Virtual Tracks  We made a drum track using un-tuned percussion instruments  We also used a guitar for the backing chords  For the main melody we used four chords and played the same notes up an octave

26 th January 2015 Effects on Guitar Chords  For the Guitar chords we used effects such as EQ, Reverb and Distortion.  We used the EQ to remove the really high and bass notes.  We used the Reverb to add a bit more depth to the sound and the Distortion was used for the same reason.

26 th January 2015 Effects on Drums  We used a couple of effects on the drum track.  We used EQ to remove the really high irritating noises.  We also used reverb to make the track sound more realistic.

29 th January 2015 Effects on Main Melody  On the melody track we used many effects such as EQ, Chorus and Reverb.  We used EQ to remove the really high notes and the bass notes that we didn’t want.  We used Chorus to make it sound as if there was more than one person playing.  We used Reverb to create an echo sound that will make it sound realistic.

2 nd February 2015 Effects on Melody  On the Melody we used EQ and Reverb.  We used EQ to remove the edge of the high notes and the bass notes.  We used Reverb to create a more realistic sound.

9 th February 2015 Could have done better?  We could have made it longer.  Our timings are a little off at some points.

9 th February 2015 What we did well?  Our piece is completely original and we didn’t use any of the loops on Mixcraft.  Although short, what we have is well done and hits the success criteria.
