VITAMIN-A (RETINOL) Carotene is the precursor of vitamin A. It is also termed as Pro-vitamin-A.

SOURCES AS Carotene Present in orange-yellow coloured vegetables & Green leafy vegetables like: 1.Carrot 2. Pumpkin 3. Papaya 4. Spinach 5. Mustered leaves.

As retinol Present in animal foods like fish liver oils, meat, fish, egg, milk etc.

FUNCTIONS 1.Helps in growth & development. 2. Required for proper eyesight. 3. Required for development of epithelial tissue, for healthy glowing skin. 4. Helps the body to fight against infection.
