Ian’s 8 th Grade Outdoor ED September 2007

We wanted to share the fact that Ian did so well on his 8th Grade Outdoor ED experience.

He and all the other 8th graders hiked from the Aspen area to a Base Camp near Marble, Colorado.

The outing lasts a week with 4 days of hiking the rugged mountains of the Elk Mountain range.

Overlooking Snowmass Lake

On top of Trail Rider Pass

A 24 hour solo (by yourself with no food and just your tarp and a sleeping bag).

Lots of hiking in the beautiful mountains.

Base camp at last.

Getting instructions on a day of rock climbing and rappelling.

Ian at the top of the high rappel with Dad.

Ready, Set…

You GO

A day of corporate style ropes courses, including team building initiatives like the trust fall. Tyrolean (zip-line) traverse

Time to clean up after a long week.

7am dip after a nice jog.

Ahhh…Refreshing!

Yaaah

Now Ian is truly an 8 th grader.
