HOW TO SEW By: Sabrina Reguero

THE BASICS  Step 1: Acquire the proper tools Needles Scissors Measuring tape Pins and pin cushion Seem ripper

THE BASICS  Step 2: Make sure fabric is washed and clean before you begin.  Step 3: Iron fabric flat to get all the wrinkles out for a more accurate project.  Step 4: Follow the directions for the pattern you are making and begin cutting the appropriately sized fabric pieces for said pattern.  Step 4: Pin the fabric together with the front of the fabric (pattern side) facing each other.

THE BASICS  You are now ready to move to the sewing machine Pick a thread color that matches the design you are working with Thread the sewing machine using the directions on the sewing machine (every sewing machine is slightly different) Once the machine is threaded you are ready to begin

THE BASICS  If your fabric is pinned together evenly and your sewing machine is threaded then you are ready to begin the actual sewing process. Place your fabric under the needle and put the foot (the thing that holds the needle) down before you begin. Once you have your fabric lined up under the needle where you want the stitch to land gently step on the foot peddle. The softer you push the slower the needle will go and the harder you push the faster the needle will go. Control the fabric with your hands, guiding it through the machine in a straight line.

THE BASICS  Once you have sewed all your stitches flip the fabric inside out and… WAA-LAAA  Your project is complete!

THE BASICS  How to video:  Step by step instructions: machine/
