Office of Human Resources HR Forum will be held on the first Wednesday of the month 10am – 11:30am. JSOM July 1, 2015 August 5, 2015 **Because there is a class in the room at 11:30, please exit the room as quickly as possible when the meeting ends.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS/ ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT Division Update

ER/OD  New Cohort of Catch Comet Pride Starting June 9 th.  June 30, Performance Appraisals due for employees with start date between January 1, 2015 & April 15, (Probationary Appraisal Forms Accepted)  Preparation for Service Awards.

BENEFITS Division Update

Leave Updates Absence Approval in PS TTime saved but not submitted by employee TTime submitted but not approved by manager  Please refer to the Time Admin sent March 23 These outstanding absences must be processed immediately. This impacts balances visible in Galaxy. Accurate balances affect the amount of vacation leave that carries over to the next fiscal year. Excess Vacation Leave  As of 8/31/15 will be converted to sick leave on 9/1/15

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES Division Update

RA/TA New hire RA/TAs will have a common start date of 8/15 for the fall semester. – RA/TAs can be hired earlier or later based on your departmental needs and budgetary considerations. – Employment Express will be help 8/12 – 14. Please provide a list of expected new hires no later than 8/1. If you have a tentative list, please send as soon as possible. – Students unable to participate in Employment Express, may come to the Office of Human Resources to complete there documentation during schedule time periods.

Employment Express Founder’s Atrium, 2 nd Floor – August 12 th 1:00pm – 3:00pm – August 13 th 9:00am – 11:00am, 1:00pm – 3:00pm – August 14 th 9:00am – 11:00am List template will be sent to school POC by July 1 st. Volunteers will be needed from each school, if you are interested please contact Kelly Anderson. Criminal background checks will be initiated by HR based on information included in list template. RA/TAs will be sent required documents by August 1 st. Offer letters used by international students to apply for a SS Card will be available in HR after July 15 th.

8/1 Faculty Start Date All new hire faculty who would normally begin employment 9/1, may now start 8/1. – Set-up labs/offices – Introduction to School/department. – Orient self to campus Appointment date will remain 9/1, with an additional appointment for 8/1 – 8/31. New hire paperwork will be completed by HR. Paperwork must be completed within three (3) days after the faculty start date. (Ex. If faculty begin on 8/4, the completed new hire forms must be received no later than 8/7).
