How to Feed a Reptile Know that most reptiles eat insects like crickets and mealworms. Add some sort of vitamin or calcium powder to the food so that the reptile will be able to get most of its nutrients. Also have fresh water at all times. Some reptiles like to have vegetables with their diet. If you have a larger reptile you will probably have to give it some small rodents like a mouse or two. Feed your reptile in the mourning so that they can warm up their bodies to the right temperature to help aid in digestion. Click the Picture

Reproduction All of the species of reptiles lay eggs. If turtles lay a nest of eggs every year. Although she lays eggs they will not hatch unless fertilized by a male turtle.

Training a lizard 1. Place your hand inside of your lizards cage and let it smell your scent. 2. Talk to your lizard every time you put your hands inside of the cage and repeat once a day 3. Place a wax worm in the palm of your hand and hold it inside of the lizards cage. They may not eat it right away for the first few days. 4. Once it has eaten the worms for a few days you can take it out of its cage for a few minutes and increase the time out of its cage by one minute a day.

How to train your lizard (continued) 1. Sit on the floor and let your lizard venture away from you. Once you have done all of the steps your lizard is more likely to stay close to you

The History The earliest reptile is dated back to 320,000,000 years ago Reptiles evolved from Amphibians because of the need to adjust to life and land around them Over 7,000 species of reptiles Not until the nineteenth century did it become clear that reptiles and amphibians were not the same animals

The Description It is hard to pinpoint the exact description of 7,000 different species Generally most reptiles are cold blooded There skin has scales

Housing Equipment Needed to Have the Pet Fresh Water Whatever type of food it eats A cage big enough for it to get exercise Some type of bedding A Shelter Two heat lamps  Daytime – Brighter Bulb  Nighttime- Duller Bulb

Types of Reptiles Inland Taipan -Most poisonous Reptile Crocodiles Lizard Turtles Snakes Komodo Dragon

Crocodiles Can swim at 25mph with only their tail Each crocodile jaw has 24 teeth 99% of Crocodile offspring are eaten in the first year after birth by large fish, herons, monitor lizards, and adult crocodiles
