EPOCH 1000 File Management Data Logging and Reporting

NEW Data Logging and Reporting Features EPOCH 1000 Series v1.1.2.1 introduces new and enhanced data logging and reporting tools Updated User Interface Advanced Corrosion Style File Types New Reports menu with customizable HTML and Image reporting capabilities Individual file export and import to exchange files between instruments without disturbing preexisting data files

Files Menu The EPOCH 1000 Series Files group menu has been updated slightly to accommodate new features Open – Allows access to existing files for storage and review Create – Allows creation of new files in the data logger Reset – Allows resets of parameters, storage, probe library Export/Import – New feature allowing individual file export or import to removable media First ID – Jumps to the first ID of the active storage file Last ID – Jumps to the last ID of the active storage file ID – Indicates current active storage file ID number

NEW Reports Menu The EPOCH 1000 Series has added a new Reports menu to allow enhanced reporting capabilities directly from the instrument Report – Selects to report either full data or summary of file(s) Image – Allows reporting control of Image/Image and Measurement files only HTML – Allows reporting of Data and Image files only Report Setup – Allows configuration and viewing of file reports generated onboard the instrument Page Setup – Allows configuration of labels, headers and print functions Media – Selects report export destination (USB or CF)

File Creation and Review Updates

Create Menu The CREATE menu has been modified to improve the user experience All required fields are indicated by a * symbol Notation under setup box indicates the type of data that will be saved to the file based on CAPTURE selection P4 = Clear – Clears the full text content of the highlighted box for easy text replacement

NEW Advanced Data Logger The EPOCH 1000 Series now supports all standard corrosion style file types under the tab Advanced Data Logger Types include: SEQ, SEQ+CPT, 2D, 2D+CPT, 3D, BOILER, 2DEPRI To create an advanced file type Select the Advanced Data Logger tab Use the TYPE row to select the desired file type Press P7 [Setup] to configure the file type correctly

NEW Advanced Data Logger (cont.) In the advanced file type setup menu Configure the file according the inspection requirements Make sure to complete all required (*) fields To clear the contents of a row for editing, press P1 [Clear] When finished, press P7 [Close] Once complete, create the file in the main CREATE menu just like a standard file (Create, Create&Open, Create&Save)

Open Menu The OPEN menu has been modified to improve the user experience File and ID areas expanded New File and ID icons added Use right/left arrows or CHECK key to jump between File name and ID Removable media drive icons updated

New P key functions allow more intuitive file review, editing and reporting features Open – Opens highlighted file as active storage location Summary – Opens summary table of all digital measurements and IDs from highlighted file Rename – Allows renaming of highlighted file Clear – Deletes data content of highlighted file (file name remains) Delete – Deletes entire highlighted file Flag for Report – New feature flagging files and/or IDs for reporting (see section on reporting capabilities) Cancel – Exits OPEN menu Summary View Example

After highlighting a particular ID, P key functions change to accommodate review of that ID Open – Opens ID as active storage location Review – Opens review window of all information for that ID, including waveform, digital measurements, calibration data, etc Flag for Report – New feature flagging IDs for reporting (see section on reporting capabilities) Cancel – Exits OPEN menu ID Review View Example

NEW Export/Import Menu The Export/Import feature allows users to share individual files and/or IDs between instruments without the need for completely backing up or restoring all files on the unit EXPORT allows exporting of individual files to removable media as XML files IMPORT allows importing files from removable media, as long as imported file is in the proper XML format

NEW Export/Import Menu (cont.) To Export a set of files, first make sure a USB memory stick is inserted in the EPOCH 1000 instrument Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate through the list of file names Press [CHECK] to select a file name for exporting All IDs will automatically become checked for exporting Once completed, press P1 [Export] to send each checked file to the inserted USB drive It is also possible to export only selected IDs by using the right arrow to enter the ID list and selecting the desired IDs using the same procedure as above WARNING: Exporting files to USB can take several minutes

NEW Export/Import Menu (cont.) To Import a set of files, first make sure a USB memory stick is inserted in the EPOCH 1000 instrument that contains proper XML files In the Export/Import menu, press P6 [Change Mode] to switch from Export to Import Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight the desired file name Press [CHECK] to select a file name for importing Once completed, press P1 [Import] to transfer each checked file from the USB to the EPOCH 1000 instrument If a file name already exists on the EPOCH 1000, the user will be prompted to provide a new file name before completing the import

XML File from Export In addition to allowing export and import of individual files, the XML file type has broader uses EPOCH 1000 files output in a standard XML format XML can easily be read into a third party reporting or data storage program Blank XML files can easily be generated by a third party program for import to the EPOCH 1000 Olympus NDT can provide XML Schema that guides customers on the format and usage of EPOCH 1000 exported files

Report Generation and Export

NEW Reporting Enhancements The reporting capabilities of the EPOCH 1000 Series have been enhanced to allow more dynamic outputs of information in a variety of formats HTML report configuration and output Image output as .PNG image file Custom report logo import Easy selection of export media and report format

Report Output Selections The Reports menu allows easy selection of the output format and destination for reports EXPORT TO OR OR

Image File Export The EPOCH 1000 Series Image export (P2) exports stored images to a removable memory device Only files created as either Image Only or Image and Measurements are viewable in this export menu To export Image file reports Press P2 [Image] Use the up and down arrows to highlight the desired file names Use the [CHECK] key to select the highlighted file Press P1 [Export] to send the image files to removable media

HTML File Export The EPOCH 1000 Series HTML export (P3) exports stored data files to a removable memory device Creates HTML files on media device based on Report Setup configuration See Report Setup slide for configuration options To export HTML file reports Press P3 [HTML] Use the up and down arrows to highlight the desired file names Use the [CHECK] key to select the highlighted file Press P1 [Export] to send the HTML files to removable media

While exporting HTML files, it’s possible to only export certain IDs instead of the entire file To export individual IDs Use the right arrow to jump to the ID screen Use the [CHECK] key to select the desired IDs for export File names that are exporting only partial IDs are highlighted in grey on the list and do not show the check box

HTML Report Setup The Report Setup menu allows the user to configure the HTML report components for export Custom logo for top of report Sections of report to include or remove, such as header, logo, waveform/image, etc Preview report prior to export To access the Report Setup menu, press P4 [Report Setup]

To add or remove section of the HTML report Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list of sections Use the [CHECK] key to select or deselect components of the report Once completed, press the P1 [Preview] button to view a generic preview of the HTML report to be generated based on the section configuration Use the knob to scroll up and down through this preview

Custom Logo Import The Report Setup menu allows the user to import a custom logo to use as their report header To do this, first copy the logo file onto a USB memory stick The logo file must be a standard Windows image file, such as PNG, JPEG, BMP, etc Press the P2 [Import Logo] button to show a list of all image files available on the connected USB device

Custom Logo Import Select the logo from the list and press [CHECK] to import To return to the default Olympus logo, press the P3 [Default Logo] key

Page Setup The Page Setup menu allows the user to define report labels and header information, as well as make global print function adjustments Print Functions relate to the 2ndF+PRINT key on the front panel of the instrument: Printer – Type of USB (PCL 5) printer connected to the unit Draft Mode – Quality of print Color – Black and White or Color print mode Print Function – Allows user to have the 2ndF+PRINT key press Print a HTML report to a USB printer Send a full screen capture to USB Send a full screen capture to the Compact Flash card
