C LIMATE C HANGE Climate Change is a change of climate that only happens occasionally, but now we speed it up. We have done some activities that harm nature and used un-environmental friendly things that are dangerous for our climate. As a consequence it is changing faster in a bad way with negative impact.

W HY IT HAPPENS Climate Change happens because of the increasing amount of greenhouse gases from human action such as industrial activity, power plants to produce electricity, deforestation, overuse of transportation, farming and agricultural production. These activities make the earth warmer than usual, an event that we call global warming.

T HE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE Climate Change affects the water cycle and it makes changes in weather patterns in certain locations. When the weather pattern changes, there is extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes, storms, flooding, etc. This impacts on all living things in the environment on Earth.

M EAT VERSUS V EGETABLES One of the serious causes is Farming: It happens by people farming and the farm animals that produce Methane and CO2 from their bodies They are taken to factories by trucks and produce CO2 again. Factories burn fossil fuels to process the animals into meat which also produces CO2. They are taken to supermarkets or markets by vehicles which produce CO2. The markets or Supermarkets freeze them in freezers using electricity that produce CO2. All of these activities produce lots of greenhouse gases, while the veggies takes less.

E FFECTS ON OUR LIVES We need to start taking action because if we don’t climate change will keep going faster and if it does there will be: 1. Affects to our health because, there would be new viruses. 2. Extreme weather, so some places experience drought while others have flooding. We will also have problems accessing water 3.Water Supplies are getting lower, there is only 1/3 fresh water on Earth and it will keep decreasing. 4. Some species will become extinct. 5. Human population will decrease.

M Y A CTION TO COUNTERACT CLIMATE CHANGE By eating vegetables, I called my action “Veggie Diet” because it’s about me having a diet without meat. It would decrease the amount of meat that is produced by farmers. Meat produces CO2 and Methane which is very dangerous for the atmosphere. Besides this, if we take this action we would be healthier and more economical because veggies are cheap.

M Y N EXT P LAN To keep this action sustainable: I will do this action weekly, at least once or twice a week. I will take this action every week after the MC3. I will record my action in the action journal as evidence. I will educate other people about climate change and promote my action to them.

Thank You
