UK Quality Code for Higher Education, QAA ‘Degree-awarding bodies ensure that modules and programmes offered throughout other delivery organisations, support providers or partners are monitored and reviewed through procedures that are consistent with, or comparable, to, those used for modules or programmes provided directly by them.’ Indicator 17, Chapter B10: Managing Higher Education with Others, Quality Assurance Agency

Academic Principles and Regulations ‘The University requires that all academic provision is annually reviewed in order to ensure that quality and standards are operating as intended and that programmes of quality enhancement are developed, implemented and evaluated’. (Extract from revised Academic Regulations: Section B6.1.1)

Franchise Framework ‘Annual monitoring and review arrangement will follow the university process’ University staff (Franchise Coordinator/Link Tutor) will attend the annual review meeting and where possible student focus groups enhancement and development meetings’ Franchise Framework

Role of Course Leader Course Leader (in liaison with Link Tutor) Confirms schedule (Operational Plan) with Link Tutor Organises and leads meetings with support of course team Raise issues with Link Tutor and Partner FC Writes the course annual report Signs off in year action plans and allocates staff responsibilities Submits to Link Tutor & Franchise Coordinator

Module tutors / leaders Control module evaluation Ongoing monitoring/ enhancement and review Collate and respond to feedback via mid- module evaluation Full range of staff should contribute to discussions and overall process

Key tasks for partner Identify who will: Retain documentary evidence of all stages of process - Minutes the meetings including student focus groups - Ensure the course team has access to the range of information

Role of Link Tutor Oversee scheduling of meetings Attend Annual Review Where possible attend Enhancement and Development and Student Focus Groups Provide advice and guidance on the process Ensure timely submission of report
