For starters…. a few definitions LED: Light Emitting Diode Watt: The watt is a derived unit of power in the International System of Units. By the definitions of electric potential (volt) and current (ampere), work is done at a rate of one watt when one ampere flows through a potential difference of one volt. 1W=1V×1A Lumen: a measure of the power of light perceived by the human eye, the measure of the total power of light emitted Foot Candle: The iluminance on a 1-square foot surface of which there is a uniformly distributed flux of one lumen. Than can be thought of as the amount of light actually falls on a given surface. The foot-candle is equal to one lumen per square foot. LM70: The life of a lumenare that will lose 30% of the original light output by 50,000 hours of operation n Color Temperature: A characteristic of visual light. The color temperature of a light source is determined by comparing its chromaticity with that of an ideal black-body radiator. Higher color temperatures (5,000 K or more) are cool (blueish white) colors, and lower color temperatures (2,700–3,000 K) warm (yellowish white through red) colors CRI: is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source

So there were a few LED Downlights before us… But there needs to be the best!!

What should an LED Downlight Be? Energy Efficient w/ High Lumen Output: obtaining equal or greater foot-candles on a surface equivalent to that of traditional lamp sources. To have the same or greater amount of light and effect using less energy “Warm” Color Temp & High CRI: Using diodes that are rated below 3000K will give off the impression that an incandescent source is in place, something we are very accustomed to. A high CRI is important, 85 or above will allow for colors to truly show themselves Low Maintenance: Long lamp life, 50,000 70% lumen maintenance.
