  An autoimmune disease in which the body attacks myelin (substance surrounding nerve fibers in CNS)  Destruction of the myelin causes the nerve impulses traveling to and from the brain and spinal cord to be distorted or interrupted causing a variety of symptoms.  Video on MS Video on MS Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

  Can be mild such as numbness in the limbs or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision.  Women are at least twice as likely to get MS than men.  “In all parts of the world, MS is more common at northern latitudes that are farther from the equator and less common in areas closer to the equator. Researchers are now investigating whether increased exposure to sunlight and the vitamin D it provides may have a protective effect on those living near the equator” Symptoms & Statistics

  This is why we want to help by raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society who fund research towards prevention and treatments, and help individuals and their families who are living with MS. There is no cure

  We will be selling orange silicone bracelets (like LIVESTRONG) for $2.00 and all profits will go to The Multiple Sclerosis Society.  If $10 or more are donated, you will receive a Giant Microbes ® mini Nerve Cell! Fundraising

  Come help the Pre-Pharmacy Society support the fight for Multiple Sclerosis! Come to California Tortilla anytime between 4pm-10pm on March 15 th to help raise money for M.S.  Just say the password “ MEDICINE ” when you order and a percentage of that purchase will go toward the fight against multiple sclerosis!
