Olympus Image Share Olympus has created iOS and Android apps to utilise the WiFi features of the Olympus OM-D E-M1. However, there doesn't appear to be a solution for a laptop or desktop computer yet. The app currently has the following features: The Remote Control feature allows you to remotely control and take photos with the camera over WiFi. The app controls many of the basic functions of the camera including: shooting mode, shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, ISO, white balance, and sequential shooting / self timer. The app also has the ability to import and display photos on the camera SD card and transfer them to your mobile device. The photo editing function lets you edit photos on your mobile devices. The editing features include art filters and the ability to add a signature to the photo. The Geotagging feature adds location data to your photo by using the GPS information from your phone. Logging must be switched on in the app to record location information. The app matches time stamps in the geotagging log with photos on the camera in order to add the location information to the photos. Turning on the logging in the Olympus Image Share App will also drain your cell phone battery faster.

* Shooting Mode (iAuto, Program, Aperture, Shutter, and Manual) * Shutter Speed * Aperture * Exposure Compensation * ISO * White Balance * Sequential Shooting / Self Timer * You can also select “Touch to Focus” or “Touch to Shoot” * Live Time and Live Bulb. * Difficult to tell that the subject is in focus. * The WiFi range signal was still good from 75 feet away. * The combination of Live Time and WiFi Remote Control is a great feature for night photography Wish List * Landscape mode on iOS * Manual Focus * Histogram on live view / taken photos * Ability to change the focus mode * Zoom in to Focus (Zooming in and manual focus would be great for macro) * Half press!!!

CamRanger is a device that connects to select Canon or Nikon DLSR cameras via a USB cable (please visit the CamRanger website for a compatible camera list). It creates an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network that your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch can then connect to. The free CamRanger iOS app then enables control of the camera. There is no need for a computer or existing internet connection. A much more advanced remote controller but not FREE! CamRanger Features * Operates on a rechargeable, replaceable battery * Battery life varies upon usage but 3 to 6 hours is typical * Charges with and can be powered by provided USB charging cable or AC adapter * Wireless network enables connections up to 150 feet * Comes with protective case for storage and secure attachment * Includes Ethernet cable for firmware upgrades for future enhancements The “white box” provides what is in the Olympus camera.....
