Autism and the different levels There are three main types of Autism: High Functioning Mild Functioning Low Functioning High Functioning: Slight communication problems, but learning ability normal just slightly slow but can be integrated into normal classes Mild Functioning: Higher communication problems learning ability maybe compromised in the case that needs excessive time for learning and will need an aid to accompany child for a longer period of time Low Functioning: does not communicate and learning is very hard for them to accomplish

What Are Stem Cells? There are two types of stem cells: Embryotic stem cells Adult stem cells Adult stem cells are specialized in the regeneration of existing cells. Embryotic stem cells are cells that can be specialized to create any cell we need Embryotic stem cells come from the inner cell mass of a mammal Adult stem cells can be found in various tissues such as in bone marrow

Why We Use Stem Cells They can be manipulated They can regenerated damage cells They can be used as a transport carrier They can reverse inflammatory disease They can increase blood flow in the brain

Stem Cell Controversy Stem cells unethical. Why do they claim this? Why: In the early stages of stem cell research, the way stem cells were obtained were through dead or aborted fetuses. This stired up an ethical debate almost banning the the use of stem cells. Until scientist proved that yes aborted fetuses did contain stem cells, there were other ways to gain access to stem cells, as state early for example from the umbilical cord.

How Stem Cells are obtained? Donations of unwanted or unused umbilical cord The use of the autistic patients own umbilical cord Hospitals now offer you the chance to have your umbilicolcord saved to be used to use its stem cells

Treatment How It Works The donated stem cells will be administered into the spinal cord. We will be using a specific embryotic stem cell called CD34. The way the process work, is it will allow the cells CD34 to travel through the nervous system and relieve any inflamed organs. Until it makes its way to the brain and start to slowly allow oxygen flow into the brain. Treatment must be administrated 4 times a day 5 days a week

Pro’s and Con’s Pro’s Con’s Child has a possibility from going from low functioning to high functioning No more inflamed organs, at very least inflammation goes down Body can reject stem cells, if not your own Can cause system shut down Can cause infection Can cause internal bleeding Ultimately can cause death In conclusion: This treatment has the ablitty to cure autism in all of its forms from the medical, to the behavioral. 1 in 166 kids have and autistic disorder and these numbers are on the rise. Stem cells are the missing piece of the puzzle and had application to help many other disorders on the lines of autism.
