Sheldon ISD’s Early Learning Center Count down to opening

Operations Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 5:30 pm All district holidays will be observed Closed in July Licensed through the state of Texas Achieve NAEYC Accreditation by December 2011

Licensing vs NAEYC Teachers must have GED or HS Diploma 15 hr training per year Curriculum must provide activities in the areas of dramatic play, art, fine and gross motor skills and outdoor play Child Development Certificate or pursuing one 20 hrs training per year Curriculum must have goals and objectives for every age group Requires program to be inclusive and teach tolerance, acceptance and community involvement

Classroom framework NAEYC required ratios will be maintained Activity Centers allowing child initiated learning will be supported through curriculum and teacher facilitation

Ratios Infants 0 – 17 months (2 rooms) Toddlers 18 – 35 months (2 rooms) Preschool 3 – 4 years (2 – 3 rooms) 1 : 4 max of 8 per room 1 : 6 max of 12 per room 1 : 9 max of 18 per room We will employ 20 – 25 based on enrollment

Recommended tuition rates Infants 0 – 17 months $160 Todd/ 2’s 18 – 24 months $135 Threes and Fours $120 Annual registration and supply fee $75 per child.
