What they are Day of the Dead altars are built by family and friends in houses or by tombstones in remembrance of the dead The altars are used to welcome the spirits back to the living world
What they put on altars Marigold is a traditional flower that is used to honor the dead Incense is used to clear the bad energy Water to refresh the dead (or in my case tea) Favorite foods, seasonal fruits and dead bread(I did not include this) traditionally Mexicans put mole, tamales and hot chocolate. Candles to represent light, faith and hope. A photo on top of whom the altar is dedicated to Sugar Skulls are used to hype up the waking spirits Things liked by the person in context such as toys or personal items Paper cuttings Ect.

Construction process First I got a laundry basket and flipped it upside-down Then put a black blanket over it Next I got an empty xbox box and placed it on top of the laundry basket then put a blanket over that Then placed food and candles Then I added fake black roses (at the bottom) and a real rose at the top And finally added the pictures at the bottom and lit candles
