Can we also remove the section numbers from throughout the presentation. Ian Only problem now is that there seems no structure or order to it. I don’t mind not having numbers, but I have lost a sense of order. We can’t use the Atlantis pic (spa)

Moving forward Attend seminars Contact trade associations Contact your local business link Government associations (DTCM / UKTI) Do your own market research Attend trade shows & exhibitions Establish an office Hire a legal firm to carry out the procedure Remove expect the best and the logo as for tourism So how do you actually take the step to do business in the region? Depending on what particular stage you are at in terms of venturing to Dubai and the Middle East here is what we would recommend: Attend seminars such as these to gather initial information Engage the assistance of your trade association or Middle East specific associations like the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, the Middle East Association, the British Business Club etc. Contact your local business link and/or chamber of commerce to obtain advice. Obtain further advice from UK trade and investment as well as that of the government covering the market that you are interested in (for example DTCM and the UKTI). Undertake your own market research by attending relevant trade shows and trade missions in the markets you are interested in. Meet with as many people and businesses as you feasibly can. This includes, would-be clients and suppliers. Attend sector specific exhibitions of road shows or exhibit at a trade show in the new market to gain a presence and make yourself known – assistance is provided by UKTI for some shows. All of these preparatory stages should give you a good platform from which to then start trading. Once you have discovered the market and its potential then you can consider setting up an office etc.

Former British Consul General John Martin St Valery CEO Comments and opinions Dubai is in a perfect location – right at the crossroads between East and West – with a near to perfect, and ever improving, infrastructure. Logistics, communication and transportation are world-class and the emirate has a hugely beneficial tax regime, all of which combine to make Dubai a desirable hub for UK and international businesses Dubai continues to be the envy of the Gulf in its ability to expand its non-oil sectors. The Dubai Mall and Marina Mall are undoubtedly among the most exciting and innovative retail developments in the world. They are set to become important retail centres, building on Dubai's growing reputation as the international shopping destination Dubai is an open market and competition is tough … [we have seen] more British companies, especially Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to come to Dubai to invest and to use Dubai as the base from which to target the markets of the region Oliver Cornock Regional Editor The potential of this market is huge. Dubai is an investment gold mine with no real disincentives Remove expect the best and the logo as for tourism Mark Price Managing Director John Hawkins Former British Consul General John Martin St Valery CEO Sean Allison Technical Director
