Just like you have skin to protect the parts inside you… A book has a part that protects it too!
It’s called a COVER! The book’s COVER is the outside part of the book!
All books have a FRONT COVER and a BACK COVER.
The FRONT COVER and the BACK COVER work together to keep the book safe.
The FRONT COVER has important information on it.
Like the TITLE of the book!
The TITLE is the book’s name. It almost always appears near the TOP of the book’s cover. TITLE: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The TITLE of a book can help you predict or guess what the book will be about. TITLE: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
