By Lauren, Andrea, and Alli The Element Gold By Lauren, Andrea, and Alli

Common Uses It is used for expensive fine jewelry. It is used for money is some places

Source Of Element The history of gold is found in the crust of earth and copper ores. It was found in Circa BC.

Atomic Structure And Element Number/Symbol The element gold has 79 protons and 118 neutrons as well as 79 electrons. The symbol is Au and the atomic number is 79.

Discovery The element gold was found in circa 3000 BC. The name of the of the discoverer was unknown.. we are eager to know.. but we are clueless.

The Melting/Boiling Point and Classification The melting point is 1064.43°C. The boiling point is 2807°C. The classification is a Transition Metal. It’s name origin comes from the old English word geolo meaning yellow.

Interesting Things I Know You Don’t Know.. Gold is known and highly valued from earliest times, gold is found and natured as a free metal. In telluride; it is very widely distributed and is almost always associated with quartz and pryrite.

COMPOUNDS!!!!! One kind of compound for gold is Chloroaric Acid. Another is Gold Cluster. A third is Auranofin.

The End We think gold is a very satisfying and helpful element to the human kind. We encourage and challenge you to discover more about this awesome element. Gold is part of history and you could be, too. Thank you for watching this presentation.
