Governance Under the auspices of ISTeC Management and Allocations Committee (MAC) – Has been successful in managing the Cray – Membership is flexible, includes 5 colleges – Proposing an Ex Officio member from ACNS Will take up to a year to develop policies, procedures, and best practices Will produce an annual report to VPR ISTeC Big Data Forum April, 2013

Management & Operations ACNS has agreed to build and manage the infrastructure Ease of use – data portability facilitated via access to the campus data network Open and available to the entire research community ISTeC Big Data Forum April, 2013

Sustainable Financial Model Charge back model - $550/TB/year – Generates $44K/year once fully populated – Allows for incremental growth as required – Until governance is established, recommended researchers can use up to 3 TB each at no cost for first year Only one year of funding requested ISTeC Big Data Forum April, 2013
