BrightWork at GMAC-RFC Initial State: Documents on shared drives Difficult to navigate, inconsistent folder structure, inconsistent versioning, inconsistent deliverables templates Project Managers only team members tracking risks/issues, able to access data for reporting Consider adding 1-2 pages that describe the process/approach an organization should take if interested in using this framework. Consider adding the risks involved. (and how we can help) Minimally, we need to get Digineer’s (and your) contact information in the slide deck. It would be great if we could have a 1-page Digineer overview with our contact info on it
BrightWork at GMAC-RFC Final State All project data available to Enterprise Project Office in real time (or at least updated weekly) without additional PM time investment All projects using same set of deliverables templates All projects have project websites with consistent look and feel and consistent organization of documents and controls All projects have consistent documentation of project controls and status information
BrightWork at GMAC-RFC Easier for team members to transition between projects because of process consistency Easier for portfolio managers to be aware of status of all projects Easier to consistently report information across projects and programs Easier to discuss process changes because everyone has the same starting point
No Product is a Silver Bullet Excellent Project Managers do not equate to consistent project management Consistent project management requires controlled processes and buy-in from PMs and team members Buy-in is achieved through involvement in decisions and mentorship SharePoint/BrightWork SME Project Management Process SME Constant improvement should be expected

Summary SharePoint helps to manage projects consistently BrightWork helps to manage SharePoint BrightWork is for organizations that are not quite ready to fully utilize Project Server but are ready to more effectively use project information BrightWork provides out-of-the-box customization of SharePoint that would be very time consuming and expensive to do in-house and is constantly working to improve and enhance the product At RFC, we went through 3 beta versions and 2 fully functional versions in the span of a year, with the V2 being a huge step forward from V1 and even now, three months later, I am floored at the improvements and additional webparts they have released in such a short span of time.
