Presentation transcript:

 Soil is a natural body consisting of layers of primarily mineral constituents of variable thicknesses, which differ from the parent materials in their morphological, physical, chemical, and mineralogical characteristics.

 Food and other biomass production  Environmental Interaction: storage, filtering, and transformation  Biological habitat and gene pool  Source of raw materials  Physical and cultural heritage  Platform for man-made structures: buildings, highways

 A forest, also referred to as a wood or the woods, is an area with a high density of trees. Forests are essential to life on Earth.

 without forest the energy of the sun would not be harnessed through the process of photosynthesis, nor would oxygen be released through the same process.  they are home to countless species of plants and animals.  they have provided the human race with wood for centuries.

 Wildlife includes all non- domesticated plants, animals and other organisms. Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, rain forests, plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developed urban sites, all have distinct forms of wildlife.
