GOD'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

1. God’s love is intrinsic to His nature 1 John 4:7-8 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1. God’s Love Is Intrinsic To His Nature Love is not something God chooses to do or give

Love is the very essence of who He is.

God doesn't just love – He is love 1 John 4:16 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

It motivates His every action, directs His activities, and reflects His desires John 4:10 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

2. God’s Love Is Universal Psalm 145:9 The L ORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Luke 7:34 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

Luke 15:2 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

4. God’s Love Is Sacrificial 1 John 3:16 16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

John 15:13 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

5. God’s Love Is Contagious Romans 5:5 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

The Focus of God's Love is Redemption Revelation 1:5 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

Titus 3:4-5 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

The Goal of God’s Love is Relationship Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

God chose to love us unconditionally to reconcile us back to Him and have a vibrant relationship with him!
