Listening Strategies First thing to remember: You don’t always need to catch EVERY word.  You don’t always catch every word in your native language; why expect to catch everything in a second language?

Listening Strategies - Whenever you are listening, there is a purpose. - Examples: - Getting specific details for an assignment - Setting a meeting time - Getting personal information about a new person you have just met - Following instructions
