MENTOR INTERNATIONAL EXPLORERS PERU 2012

Where in the World is Peru Peru is officially the Republic of Peru (República del Perú, and is a country in western South America. It is bordered on the north by Euuado and Colombia on the east by Brasil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

A Little History Peruvian territory was home to the Norte Chio civilization, one of the oldest in the world, and to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. The Spanish Empire conquered the region in the 1532 century along with most of its South American colonies. It was the South American capital of Trade and culture for over a hundred years.

Modern Times After achieving independence in 1821, Peru has undergone periods of political unrest as well as periods of stability and economic upswing.

More About Lima Lima is Peru's largest city and its capital. Founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro, Lima was used as the headquarters of the Spanish conquistadors, Lima has everthing… from shopping and restaurants, to cathedrals to beaches What a gloriously old modern city!

Onto Cuzco Cusco was the site of the historic capital of the Incas. The Killke culture constructed the fortress about The Inca later expanded and occupied the complex in the 13th century and after. Today the city shows off modern glory

And UP to Machu Picchu Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas“ though only 80 km from Cuzco, it is perhaps the most familiar icon of that civilization. The Incas started building the "estate" around AD 1400 but abandoned it as an official site for the Inca rulers a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest

What’s so cool about Peru ? Rainforests & spectacular biology Shopping Volcanoes Culture Beaches

Awe-Inspiring Clinging to the Andes, between the parched coastal desert and the lush expanse of the Amazon rainforest, Peru offers such a wide range of experiences that it can be difficult to choose between them.
