Gas Prices and Education are really closely related. If the gas is too high, students will have a tough time getting to school. High gas prices, price per unit is going up, and books are really expensive. Everything adds up throughout the semester

Gas prices in California reach record breaking prices all the time. For a college student who might have to drive across town or to another town to get to school, will have a tough school year. Like people here that have to drive from Dos Palos, Newman and Santa Nella. Some students live a good distance from campus they are the ones who will really see their gas bills start to pile up. The ones who live on campus are not the ones who will be feeling the pressure It is the ones who have to drive to class, to work, and then back home who will be looking for a way out.

Education cost keep on rising every year. The price per unit here in Merced Community College is $46 per unit. To be a full time student with 12 units it would be $552 dollars plus expensive books, gas for the semester, parking permit, and other school materials.

Learning new school material is hard enough gas prices just give students something else to stress about.

That might sound drastic, but it is true. A lot of classes could be smaller this year because students will want to take more internet classes to save gas. If they take internet classes then they can avoid driving all around town to get to their schooling. Online classes are just the beginning of ways that students can save money on the road but still get that education they want.

If you are a student who has to drive to class, its going to affect your pocket book. If you face this trouble then you really need to make sure you plot out your education. Online classes might be the right thing for you to do in this situation. You could try and bunch up all your classes on the same day around the same times to make sure you are not driving back and forth.

What might some alternatives be to save money and still get an education? #1 Take the bus, bike, skateboard, ask for a ride once in a while, or if u can walk to school if possible. #2 Consider taking classes one after the other so u don’t have to drive back and forth. #3 Take online classes to cut down on your trying to get to school problems. #4 Buy used books or rent them. Sell the books after you are done with the class.
