GFCS Implementation in Germany: - 1st national GFCS implemen- tation workshop on June 26/ at DWD in Offenbach - About 50 providers and users of climate services participated - Main goal: Facilitation of climate-informed decisions in different sectors of climate change adaptation on all decision levels - Next steps: Proposal for German GFCS governance, annual user workshops, additions to German climate portal

Main German GFCS workshop recommendations: The climate service information needs to… Usable Climate Services Info Be accompa- nied by sector- specific data and products Be easily accessible and under- standable Be sustainable Be user- oriented and tailor- made Come with an expla- nation of its uncertainty (limits of use) Be well coordinated (clear roles incl. single voice) Be officialised (authoriza- tion) Feedback from sectorial user- interaction into the research component Take into account climate vulnerability assessments and cascade effects Take into account impact on standardization and on legislative processes Additional points from the discussion: Further improvement of climate observation data sets and climate model output on all scales is necessary Spatial planning as cross-cutting issue for water, agriculture, health, and civil protection sector
