Location Italy Long, boot-shaped peninsula surrounded on 3 sides by the Mediterranean Sea The Alps form the northern border. Two Island, Sardinia and Sicily are part of the country. About 26% is arable land Mostly coastal lowlands and river valleys.

Location European Plain Germany Located in North-Central Europe on the European Plain. Poland to the east, France to the west, Baltic Sea and North Sea to the north, Austria and Switzerland to the south. Southern Region= Mountainous; Central region= Hilly and Mountainous

Climate Italy Coastal areas have mild winter and warm, dry summers. Mountain have cold, wet, and snowy winters and humid subtropical summers

Climate Germany In the west, winters are mild, summers are cool, with rainfall year round. In the east, winters are very cold, summers are very hot with long dry periods.

Natural Resources United Kingdom The U.K. has deposits of coal, petroleum, natural gas, and iron ore. These resources are needed for the country’s manufacturing industries. Most people in the U.K. are in the service industry; banking, tourism, health care, education, insurance, etc.

Natural Resources Russia Russia has many resource, but they are hard to get to because of the cold climate and size. Russia is the second leading producer of oil in the world. The Volga River is the largest in Europe and many people depend on it for shipping, hydroelectric power, and drinking water
