Wolves also are scavengers and eat small prey. POPULATION= There are about 9000 wolves left in Alaska and more than 5000 in the other 48 states. RANGE= Wolves live in Alaska, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. BEHAVIOR= Wolves live in packs of 4-7, and have an alpha pack.
