Math Carnival April 28, 2014

Catapult Math A kindergarten student loved this game and asked his grandma to make him one to play with at home. She came and took a picture of the catapult and said she was going to use it to help him with his numbers and sight words.

He is making an addition and subtraction board game. Making Board Games

Making Flashcards He is making multiplication and division flashcards.

Ring the Bottle The students have four bracelets and have to throw the rings onto the bottles. Then they have to add, subtract, multiply or divide to get the largest number.

MathDonald’s A customer orders their food and the student has to add their bill up, take their money and make change.

How Much is Your Name Worth Students used a chart that showed the value of each letter. They added up the value of each letter in their name to see how much their name is worth!

Ping Pong Math The student has to throw four ping pong balls into the cups. Then the had to create two two digit numbers and roll the dice to find out if you have to multiply or divide the numbers. The goal is to make the largest number possible.

How Many Licks Does It Take to Eat A Dum Dum The kids loved predicting how many licks it would take to eat a dum dum and then used tally Marks to find out the results.

Making Shapes Students created polygons and polyhedrons using toothpicks, marshmallows, geo boards, rubber bands, straws and pipe cleaners. The parents loved this station!
