 Sarcophaguses are stone coffins.  The word sarcophaguses means Flesh-Eater.  Sarcophaguses could be rectangular and others were shaped like the human inside them.  Very few, but some sarcophaguses were made of gold.  An ancient Egyptian sarcophaguses were a very important part of the Egyptian afterlife.

 Pyramids were built for a tomb of a wealthy man or pharoh. The first kind of pyramid was a mastaba. The first mastaba was built for King Zoser. His idea was to build one mastaba with a flat top. But then he got a idea to build another mastaba on top of the first mastaba. That is how pyramids got started.

 Any ancient Egyptian that could afford being mummified after death would choose to become a mummy about 70 million mummies were made during a 3,000 time period.  During the 4 th century AD, most Egyptians had chosen to become Christians and didn’t think mummification was not necessary anymore.  Even though when you think of a mummy you think of an Egyptian mummy but mummies were found in many other places to
