By Anna Orangutans

There are two types of orangutans, the Sumatran and Bornean.Adult males can weigh between 100 and 200 pounds.Adult females can weigh between 65 and 100 pounds. Many orangutans are 4 to 5 feet long.

The orangutan lives in the rainforest on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo.Orangutans are our closet animal cousins.

An orangutans structural adaptations are that its fur help it blend into its rainforest habitat. Also its dark eyes absorb sunlight to protect the backs of its eyes.

An Orangutans behavioral adaptations are that it uses sticks to knock fruit from trees for food. Also they shake sticks when they are threatened.

The first part of the food chain has the most energy because it doesn't have to move to get its food. While the others have to move to get their food.

A community is a place where lots of living organisms live together like how cats, dogs, birds, and squirrels live together. In the rainforest dawn bats, Bengal tigers, and king cobras are a community.
