9 Generally do not add more than one characteristic to differentiate an expression from another expression e.g., do not differentiate one translation of Hamlet in French from another French translation of the same work e.g., do not differentiate one abridgement of Homer’s Iliad from another abridgement of the same work Exception: may differentiate expressions of the same sacred scripture if necessary Note that this policy may change in future when FRBR is more fully implemented.
