Vertebrates Vertebrates are animals of a large group distinguished by the possession of a backbone or spinal column, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fishes.

Vertebrates Vertebrates include….. Fish Mammals Amphibians Birds And more!

Fish Fish have bony scales for protection. Fish have gills for breathing. Fish have Fins for movement. Fish have a certain shape to keep away from predators. Fish have big eyes to feed in the night.

Amphibians Amphibians have slimy skin for when they are out of the water so they can stay moist. Amphibians have lungs so they can breath. Amphibians have webbed feet so they can swim fast. Amphibians have big mouths so they can swallow things whole ( because there teeth aren’t very good).

Birds Birds have wings to keep them in the air. Birds have beaks to catch food and defend themselves. Birds are warm blooded so the temperature is always the same for them. Birds have feathers to keep them warm, and to attract other birds.
