European Organization for Nuclear Research The Mandate Support for the selected families of PLCs, namely the Siemens-S7 and Schneider Unity-compatible series as well as Profibus and CANbus support. It manages the technical interface with the PLC suppliers. Centralizes knowledge for the selection of the hardware and in its configuration in order to interface with the SCADA systems and with the process. Develops or provides assistance for the development of applications using the CERN frameworks or internal group standards. Maintains the developed applications during their lifecycle or transfers the necessary competences to the users.

Identify generic developments which could be created, maintained and supported by users teams. Avoid duplication of efforts by identifying existing competence and solutions. Elaborate coherent policy for spare parts, bug follow-up, software and hardware upgrades. Share expertise and development CERN-wide. Determine the necessary training

European Organization for Nuclear Research GUAPI: PLC spare parts stock Service to be provided One central critical store at CERN, for all PLC users accessible 24/24 with a complete but reduced as common catalogue. One store at each supplier premises with a delivery delay of 24 hours maximum. Status 300 references for more than assets for entire CERN. The service is provided by the manufacturers. To be accepted by the CERN management Expected operational July 2009
