The Real World What happens when you die? We all long to know. There are books and movies about this. Yet no one except God really knows what happens when we die. The Scripture is clear, we blink and God is there in all His glory! The transition is seamless and instant. Hard for us to understand but eternal living is like that. What are we going to do in heaven for eternity? Most people see it as some boring Praise a Thon. But Jesus shows us something totally different and he knows as the only person to come from eternity to earth and back. Jesus has done and experienced life from all sides. We should listen to what He has to say to all of us about eternal living. The Scripture we will look at in Matthew outlines the new mindset that Jesus wants us to follow. To give away to get more.. To focus on eternal values to make the best of today. A different way to view the eternal by making a better today. This is going to be an exciting study and one that will challenge our way of life!

The Real Word Matthew 16: Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.

Real Talk Are the actions you make today linked to your joy in eternity? Do you live for the moment or for eternity? Name one way you will change what you do to reflect your belief in eternity:

Real Steps Six Main Events of Eternal Living: 1. Life – You are created for a life of Purpose. (I Thess. 5:23) 2. Death – You Die Physically, not Spiritually.( 2 Cor. 5:8) 3. Destination – You go where you believed in on earth. (John 14:2) 4. Resurrection – You get a resurrected body. (Phil. 3:21) 5. Repayment – Rewards in heaven based on earthly deeds. (Rev 20) 6. Eternity – With God and He rewards your choices on earth. (Matt.25:46) Two Realities of Eternal Living: Our Eternal Destination is the Consequence of what we believe on earth. Our Eternal Compensation is the Consequence of how we behave on earth.

Time to Close The Dot represents your life here on earth small and contained. The line represents your life after death that goes on for eternity. Everything that happens inside the dot determines everything that happens on the line. If you really get this concept it will change your world. You may be spending all your time preparing for your retirement only to realize that their will be no U-Haul pulled behind your hearse on the way to the cemetery. You may be thinking about finishing well while forgetting that it is just the starting gate of a life lived in eternity. What about you? Are you living in the dot or on the line? Are you seeing things as they are with all the eternal significance? You do not need to wonder about or fear death. You do not have to worry about all the insignificant things on the list each day. You need to see life as God sees it.. Eternal.. Now what are you scratching off the TO DO list today? Time to MAN UP!
