Module 1 Course Introduction, Need, Basic Guidelines, Content and Process for Value Education

Module 1 Course Introduction Today time is of professionalism i.e. to get the skills as higher as possible. But unfortunately the human values are getting fallen down more and more, which is the main reason of all types of corruption, dissatisfaction, war, struggle, single families etc. For making the initialization to have a co-relation of professionalism and human values, so that all problems as defined above will reduced, this subject has been introduced

Module 1 Value Education What is it?. Need of It. Today there are too many technical & professional courses through which human gets well educated with the best available skills but unfortunately the values are being destroyed. For having the skills with values a different type of education is required called the Value Education. Present education system has become largely skilled based. Prime emphasis is on Science & Technology. To make understanding about what should be the correct way to utilize the earned skills in correct direction, the education which is required is called the Value Education. The Subject which enables us to understand ‘What is Valuable’ for human happiness is called ‘Value Education’

Module 1 Value Education What is it?. Need of It. A person can decorate and build the best house but not a better home, that is why Value Education is needed. Plants are developed by cultivation but human is developed by education, i.e. Value Education To eliminate obscurantism (Rudhiwad), Religious- Fanaticism (Dharmandhta), violence, superstition (Andhvishwas) and fatalism (Bhagyawad), Value Education is required.

Module 1 Value Education Guidelines for Value Education Should be Human Centric Should be Naturally Acceptable Should promote Harmony within Individual Should promote Harmony within Human Being Should promote Harmony within Nature

Module 1 Value Education Content for Value Education All Dimensions as Thought, Behavior, Work & Realization must be considered All the levels as given below must be considered Individual Level Family Level Society Level Nature Level Entire Existence Level

Module 1 Value Education Process for Value Education Process is completely based on Self Exploration Experience (Anubhava) Self Investigation Group Communication

Module 1 Process of Value Education Self Exploration A process of dialogue between “What I am” and “What do I really want to be” and “What is really required by me” and “What is naturally acceptable to me” Process of knowing self, discovering self.

Module 1 Process of Value Education Self Exploration Content of Self Exploration Desire/Goal What is my desire or goal Program What is my program for fulfilling the desire Whole Process Depends on Two Questions What do I really want in life What is goal of human life How to fulfill it. What is the program to actualize my goal Explanation of “Who I Am” Make Self Analysis Process of Self Exploration Set your goal Think, what should be done for that goal Then fulfill the requirement accordingly to situation

Module 1 Self Exploration Natural Acceptance Sahaj Swikriti Listening to one’s inner voice after a perfect Self Investigation Its just equal to Unconditional And Total Acceptance of the Self and of our Environment If we have Natural Acceptance with no expectation from others, if we have full commitment in our self, feel a holistic sense of inner harmony and fulfillment.

Module 1 Self Exploration Natural Acceptance Let us make a proposal (example): Respect? A Value in Human Relations When I verify it at the level of natural Acceptance for self I found it is naturally acceptable to me. When I verify it at the level of others acceptance Its found that it is also acceptable to others Means mutually fulfilling to me and others. Thus Proposal is true Else may be false.

Module 1 Self Exploration Natural Acceptance This verification leads to realization of truthfulness of the Proposal Then its become a part of understanding Then it is reflected to my thoughts and in my behavior.

Module 1 Self Exploration Natural Acceptance Validate Experience (By living accordingly) Proposal Verify within myself on the basis of our natural acceptance Respect In Behavior In Work Realization With Human Being With rest of Nature Understanding Mutual Fulfillment Think same for Natural Acceptance as: Relationship or Opposition, Happiness or Unhappines

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Continuous Happiness & Prosperity Happiness The state/situation, in which I live, if there is harmony in it, then I like to be in that state or situation. To be in state of liking is happiness Prosperity Feeling of having more than required physical facilities. Actual Prosperity required two things: Identification of quality required for physical need Ensuring availability/production of more than required physical facilities Prosperity is the state of success, flourishing or good fortune.

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations Right Understanding Relationship Physical Facilities Happiness Prosperity There are two aspirations: Happiness & Prosperity To obtain them, one must have Right Understanding of Relationships: For achieving happiness in self Physical Facilities: For Achieving the Prosperity for self

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations Priority Order Higher Right Understanding First Priority Relationship Second Priority Lower Physical Facilities Can be easily accessed and fulfilled Now Question Gets Arise: Where am I putting most of my efforts? In earning of physical facilities or in ensuring the relationship? This is a common fallacy in our lives that a large part of our problems are due to lack of relationships, though most of the time, effort and attention is focused on earning the physical facilities.

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations A Comparison Between Human and Animal based on Requirements Based on Necessary or Complete Requirement of Physical Facilities For Animal Physical Facility is necessary as well as complete But for Human Being, it is necessary but not complete Animal Consciousness versus Human Consciousness Working only for Physical Facilities is living with Animal Consciousness Working for Relationship then Physical Facilities is of Human Consciousness

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations Conclusion About Correct Requirement to Fulfill the Aspirations From Animal Consciousness Need for a Transformation To Human Consciousness

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations Conclusion About Correct Requirement to Fulfill the Aspirations From Animal Consciousness Physical Facilities Necessary As well as Complete Need for a Transformation To Human Consciousness Physical Facilities Necessary But Not Complete, also for the Relationships It will be & can be possible if and only if, working will be done with Right Understanding, with Priority Based Understanding for Relationships, then the Physical Facilities

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Basic requirements for Fulfilling of Aspirations Categories in which an Human lies or to be lied based on Understanding about different needs : SVDD (Sadhan Viheen Dukhi Daridra) No Understanding about what is required at what time. SSDD (Sadhan Sampann Dukhi Daridra) Due to understanding that Priority of Physical Facilities is higher then the Priority of Relationships. SSSS (Sadhan Sampann Sukhi Samridha) Can be achieved only by working for Right Understanding and Relationship Goal of Each & Every Human is to achieve the category : SSSS Which is possible only by working with the Right Understanding based on Priority.

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Problems Due To No Correct Understanding No achieving of happiness No attaining the prosperity The problems are being increasing more and more as At the level of Individual Rising problems of depression, Psychological discards, Suicides, Stress, Insecurity, loneliness. At the level of Family Breaking of joint families, Mistrust, Divorce, Family feuds, Legal suits. At the level of Society Growing incidences of terrorism and naxalism, Rising communalism, Spreading casteism, Ethic struggle, Wars between Nations, Fear of nuclear and genetic warfare

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Problems Due To No Correct Understanding The problems are being increasing more and more as At the level of Nature Global warming, Water pollution, Air pollution, Soil pollution, Noise pollution, Resource depletion of minerals and oils, Sizable deforestations, Lost of fertility of soil. Hence Right Understanding of Relations, Happiness & Prosperity is most required to resolve & avoid above defined problems. Sequence must be as Right Understanding Relationship Physical Facilities

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Relationship Vs Compromization Based on Emotions Task is done by Heart Only emotions are required Last stage, if desires get included is: Painful Relations Main requirements are: Bearness: No Desire Renuntiation (Tyag) Based on Skills Task is done by Mind Have to know to mind and situation of ones to make it Last stage, if emotions get included: Good and healthy relationship Requirements are: Skill techniques

Module 1 Basic Human Aspirations Based on Holy Books: For Purusharthas Purusha (Human Being) + Artha (Objective or Object) Purusharthas means objectives of Human Being. According to Hindu way of life, a man should strive to achieve four chief objectives (Purusharthas) in his life. They are: Dharma (Righteousness), Artha (Material wealth), Kama (Desire) and Moksha (Salvation). Artha Kama Dharma Moksha

Module 1 Happiness Some Confusions with Happiness I will be bored with happiness if I am always happy. I will grow only if I am unhappy. If I will be always happy, my growth will stop. I need unhappy if want to recognize that I am happy. As: Good ki Bad se, bad ki good se hoti hai pahachan We thinks of others only when we are unhappy. Ja ke pair na padi biwai… vo kya jane peer parai My happiness depends on others, then what can I do?

Module 1 Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs “We each have a hierarchy of needs that ranges from "lower" to "higher." As lower needs are fulfilled there is a tendency for other, higher needs to emerge.” Maslow’s theory maintains that a person does not feel a higher need until the needs of the current level have been satisfied. Maslow's basic needs are as follows:

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Basic Human Needs Food Air Water Clothing Sex Physiological Needs

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Safety and Security Protection Stability Pain Avoidance Routine/Order Safety Needs

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Love and Belonging Affection Acceptance Inclusion Social Needs

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Esteem Esteem Needs Self-Respect Self-Esteem Respected by Others

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Self-Actualization Achieve full potential Fulfillment

Physical Facilities Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Self-Actualization Summary Esteem Belonging Physiological Safety
