Q. What is the reference book used for? A 1. The encyclopedia is used for finding information about a specific topic under a letter in the alphabet. A 2.The volumes are sorted in alphabetical order.

Q. What kind of information can you find in this reference book? A 1. You can find information about numerous subjects such as people, places, plants, animals, and countless others. A2. The volumes in a complete set differ from the different types of encyclopedias.

Q. How do you use the reference book? A 1. Well you must know your alphabet. Then you choose the best possible letter in the alphabet that it would be found under. A 2. Once you chose the letter you use the guidewords that are located on the top corners of the pages to determine if the word(s) could be between the words.

Q. What is the best way to explain the reference book to someone? The best way to explain this reference book is to give facts and information about the book. Such as the volumes in it, contain information about a specific topic that must fall under one letter in the alphabet.

Encyclopedia Facts The first encyclopedia was published in The Zepler Encyclopedia appeared in 64 different volumes. Two types of encyclopedias are the Academic American and Collier’s Encyclopedia.

More Facts There are 22 volumes in the World Book Encyclopedia. There 26 in the Compton Encyclopedia set.
